~Below is the supplies you need for this
lesson, please click on link to download.
In this lesson you will learn how to
mist your own background for dolls. You will see my samples below. In the supplies you have 4 backs to use.
One is a jpg file and the others are psp images. When misting jpg files you must make the layer a raster layer
prior to misting or you will have a colored background. So always make it a raster layer first. Then choose
your selection tool, and as you can see in my settings below on the first one I chose a rounded rectangle with
feather set at 19, this number can be set at any number you choose, just remember the higher the number
the larger your image will be. The feather goes beyond the selection outline you make. You can see in my image below
where I put my rounded rectangle selection. Once you get your settings then using your mouse choose the selection on your image that you wish to mist. You will notice once you choose
your rounded rectangle selection that the rectangle gets a little larger, that is from the feather number setting. Once you are happy
with where it is set, just hit Shift R. Woohooo, you just misted your first background. Now please mist the other ones with different
selection types, such as I did below by using the Octagon, Rectangle and Elipse. Just remember if the file you use is a jpg and you do not
make it a raster layer then it will have a colored background. Once completed post your lessons to your teacher.
Below are the selection tool settings you will use.
